3 Months | Small Team | Visual Brand Language | Industrial Design
2020 brought the release of Canadian Tire's new line of electric outdoor power tools sporting a new visual brand language (VBL) to compliment a recently refreshed Yardworks brand. I was part of the small team behind this VBL - Ludwin Mora and Scott Cline were my teammates under the direction of Michael Painter at Priority Designs. Our team's task was to communicate the power and value of Yardworks' novel 48-volt family of power tools in a crowded marketplace.
Although I am unable to show the hundreds of sketches and renderings that led to the final VBL and products shown here, the result speaks for itself. To date, our VBL lives on more than a dozen electric Yardworks products, including three brushless lawnmowers, two grass trimmers, hedge trimmers, two chainsaws, blower, pole saw, and rechargeable batteries.
